    Within the EB5 program investors (and their spouses and unmarried children under the age of 21) are eligible for apply for a Green Card (permanent residence) if:

    • Make the necessary investment in a commercial company in the United States and
    • They plan to create or retain 10 permanent jobs for skilled American workers.

    This program is known as EB-5 due to the name of the employment-based fifth preference visa category that participants receive.

    The US Congress created the EB-5 Program in 1990 to stimulate the US economy through job creation and capital investment by foreign investors. In 1992, Congress created the Immigrant Investor Program, also known as the Regional Center Program. This sets aside EB-5 visas for program participants who invest in eligible business enterprises with approved regional centers through proposals submitted to USCIS to promote economic growth.
