Our founding attorneys, Raymundo Valdez and Carlos Monárrez met in 2005 while studying law at the University of St. Thomas in Florida. Both grew up in the Rio Grande Valley, children of immigrants, in a community where ties between the United States and Mexico are very close. The population of the Rio Grande Valley is made up of American and Mexican citizens, legal residents, and undocumented immigrants, among others.
